is there ANY way to install the REAL Mac OS9 on an Intel based Mac? No emulator or whatsoever, just the real thing. (I managed to install the game but it always crashes when I start it, because of this.) I tried out SheepShaver (also because I prefer to play on the new iMac, the other eMac screen gives me headaches) but unfortunately I just got confirmed that this game won't work on it, because it doesn't emulate 3D video cards and the emulator itself can not access hardware of the host machine itself. I've tried installing it on my other Mac that still has Classic and it didn't work anymore, several people have confirmed that this game won't work on Classic. I need this because I'm wanting to make an old video game run (Driver, from 1999).

When I get a good code base I'll put up a homepage and make it open source.I have the latest Mountain Lion and therefore can't run Classic anymore. I havn't had much time for it, but I hope to get it done within two years. It's basicly a re-implementation that is using all resources from the Myst CD. On a sidenote I've started writing a native OS X 10.5+ version of Myst. If the animations do not work it might be because you have a unsuitable version of QuickTime, try version 5.0.5 if you don't use that one.

This might be due to the fact that my computer has a lot of brute force (it's a Mac Pro 2008 model). I am indeed able to see the intro-animations and the sound isn't choppy at all. Sorry for the incredibly long reply delay! Just trying to see if this is normal or if I need to buckle down and follow your guide step-by-step. Just wondering if you are able to see the start-up intro animations? I am not. I tried a slightly different procedure and it works (mostly)! If you have any questions or comments, just reply and I'll do my best to answer.
